Learn and Explore

The Fonseca Theatre Company is more than just a theatre. In addition to our professional season, we offer a range of civic and educational opportunities. It is integral to our mission and values that we work with our neighbors in Indy’s Near Westside community through neighborhood meetings, clean-ups, sporting events, community festivals, and more.

Programs include:

  1. A theater season of socially engaged plays highlighting the work of playwrights of color
  2. Multiple variety programs on off nights (poetry, music, improv, and more)
  3. Quality theatre classes for children and teens
  4. Community meeting space and a neighborhood advocate
  5. Neighborhood special events such as our annual Rice & Beans Festival

Performances in Context

Our productions also include post-show discussions, advocacy opportunities, program notes, art exhibits, and more that directly engage our audiences and highlight the important topic at hand. For the Fonseca Theatre Company, it is essential that our work does not exist in a vacuum and we want to hear what our audiences think.

Our goal is to provide an open forum to discuss the issues presented on our stage and tangible actions that audiences may take into their own lives and community as we all strive towards an equitable society.
