A trendy, peculiar new eatery that has sprouted in this small university town. As Ann and Rachelle convene there for an evening meal, a certain tension already simmers within the bond they’ve forged through their shared journey as black women navigating the academic realm. Ann has recently secured her position with tenure at a small liberal arts college, while Rachelle grapples to find her foothold within the less esteemed State University. As hunger takes hold, the two professors unexpectedly become the central figures in an absurd theatrical enactment of the challenges faced by black individuals. When dinner unexpectedly becomes a test of endurance, who will be the first to indulge?

“Blackademics” stands as a poignant commentary on inclusion versus exclusion, addressing colorism, racial preconceptions, and socio-economic disparities.
